JCAmp Registration Warm-up

JCAmp is coming back, and it is going to be better than ever!  With more than 100 program offerings, there is something for every camper at every age! From horseback riding, exploring, and surfing to creating, performing, swimming, and everything in between, every JCAmp registration comes with a summer of excitement. Whether your camper is an adorable preschooler or an independent teen, we have a camp program for you. So, let’s get your children registered!

The key to success with JCAmp registration is to know which camp choices you are interested in and to save your spot this summer as early as possible. I am privileged to break down our camp offerings so you can register your campers as soon as possible. Consider the grade your children are entering next school year when looking at our extensive camp options. Every camp experience is designed for specific ages, ensuring age-appropriate levels of unique fun.

First up, are our littlest campers. If your children are going into kindergarten or are preschool-aged, then our Michele Block Gan Yeladim camps and Kindercamp are for you. Registration preference in Gan Yeladim and Kindercamp is given to children currently enrolled in our Michelle Block Gan Yeladim Preschool & Kindergarten, and those registered for the 2025-26 school year. If you are interested in Patty Cakes, K’TonTovim or Kindercamp, registration is only available through our Early Childhood department. Please email ganyeladim@jcajax.org with your interest and be aware that space in these camps is extremely limited. I cannot stress this enough, do not wait.

For a more traditional camp experience, with morning songs, weekly themes, and swimming, campers will grow friendships and engage in social activities in our Shoresh, Anaf and Aliyah programs. By age group, we divided our traditional camp experiences into three. Shoresh is for rising first and second graders, and Anaf is for rising third and fourth graders who begin to choose activities for themselves. Aliyah is for rising fifth and sixth graders – and these campers get to embark on an offsite adventure with JCAmp staff every session.

If your children are too old for these camps or want something a little less traditional, Sababa Theatre Camp offers two separate, month-long camps for our creative and theatrical campers. Children in grades 1 – 9 will sing, dance, and perform, as they learn choreography, and character development, while they gain confidence in our fun, nurturing, and safe environment. I can share this with you firsthand because I was a Sababa Theatre Camp counselor and instructor who spent many summers watching children thrive in camp at the JCA. At the end of each session, children display what they learn with a performance for friends and family on stage in our Bessie Setzer Frisch Auditorium. This summer children will perform in Finding Nemo Jr, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, The Big One-Oh, and Into the Woods

For campers wanting to switch it up more often, with discoveries and activities weekly, we have our specialty camp program Aman. This camp program is open for rising first through ninth graders with a specific age group for each specialty selection. In these camp programs, children can pick from a variety of activities like bookmaking, basketball, and horseback riding. To see a full list of specialty options available in Aman, click this link.

Never fear, Yalla is here for our older campers! In this traveling program, teens going into seventh through ninth grade embark on a different exciting adventure around Jacksonville each week. Each day campers depart from the JCA to traverse across Northeast Florida and return in time for pickup at 3:30 pm. This year our adventures include Surf Camp, Explore the 904, and a trip to swim in the springs! Yalla weeks also include volunteer opportunities so teens can earn service points.

For our rising high school sophomores who have aged out of our programs, we are inviting you to be a Mensch this summer and help us at JCAmp! Designed to nurture critical thinking, communication, and collaboration; while gaining hands-on practice, Menschen will participate in daily leadership and child development training while shadowing seasoned staff.
