Preschool Aquatics Group Swim Lessons
Ages 2 – 5 yrs
Preschool through kindergarten learn water safety.
Overview
Preschool through kindergarten children progress through swim levels while learning water safety and skills ranging from blowing bubbles to independent swimming. Children who successfully complete this program will be ready to begin Learn to Swim Level 3. No class Oct 2, Oct 3, Oct 16, Oct 17, Oct 23, Oct 24, Nov 27 and Nov 28. All sessions are scheduled to include 12 classes (M/W and Tu/Th) or 6 classes (Sundays).
Preschool Level 1
Swimmers in Preschool level 1 will learn:
• Entering the water independently using ramp, steps or side and travel at least 5 yards.
• Submerging mouth and blowing bubbles for at least 3 seconds.
• Exiting the water safely.
• Gliding on front for at least two body lengths with support.
• Rolling to back and floating for 3 seconds with support.
• Recovering to a vertical position with support.
• Entering the water independently using ramp, steps or side and travel at least 5 yards.

• Gliding on front for at least two body lengths with support.
• Rolling to back and floating for 3 seconds with support.

Preschool Level 2
Swimmers in Preschool level 2 will learn:
• Gliding on front at least two body lengths.
• Rolling to back, floating on back for 15 seconds and then recovering to a vertical position.
• Gliding on back for at least two body lengths.
• Rolling to front and then recovering to a vertical position.
• Swimming using combined arm and leg actions on front for three body lengths.
• Rolling to back, floating for 15 seconds, rolling to front and then continuing to swim on front for three body lengths
• Gliding on front at least two body lengths.
• Rolling to back, floating on back for 15 seconds and then recovering to a vertical position.
• Gliding on back for at least two body lengths.
• Rolling to front and then recovering to a vertical position.
• Swimming using combined arm and leg actions on front for three body lengths.
• Rolling to back, floating for 15 seconds, rolling to front and then continuing to swim on front for three body lengths
Preschool Level 3
Swimmers in Preschool level 3 will learn:
• Stepping from the side into chest-deep water.
• Pushing off the bottom and moving into a treading or floating position for 15 seconds, swimming on front and/or back for five body lengths and then exiting the water.
• Moving in to a back float for 15 seconds, rolling to front then recovering to a vertical position.
• Pushing off and swimming using combined arm and leg actions on front for five body lengths.
• Rolling to back, floating for 15 seconds, rolling to front and then continuing to swim for five body lengths
• Stepping from the side into chest-deep water.
• Pushing off the bottom and moving into a treading or floating position for 15 seconds, swimming on front and/or back for five body lengths and then exiting the water.
• Moving in to a back float for 15 seconds, rolling to front then recovering to a vertical position.
• Pushing off and swimming using combined arm and leg actions on front for five body lengths.
• Rolling to back, floating for 15 seconds, rolling to front and then continuing to swim for five body lengths
