An annual tradition at our Jewish Community Alliance, we are proud to announce the recipients of the Howard Korman President’s Award and the JCA Special Service Award this year, Helen Rowan and Whitney Kuvin.

Serving on our Board of Trustees and Finance Committee, Helen Rowan received the Howard Korman President’s Award, selected for her extraordinary work implementing new long-range financial planning for our agency. An active and engaged member on campus, Helen is always striving to improve the JCA. Most recently, Helen created efficiencies for our financial model and construction spending plans that will allow us to remain a premiere destination in Jacksonville in the future.

Whitney Kuvin, who serves as Secretary on our Executive Committee, was honored with the Special Service Award for her incredible leadership and commitment to everything that happens on and off our JCA campus. Whitney is truly invested in the future the JCA; she served as Chair of the Jacksonville Jewish Cultural Arts Festival Committee for three consecutive years, joined the JCA Executive Committee in 2024, and is a champion of our Jacksonville JCA Maccabi Games team.
After the loss of our dear friend and colleague, Eiffel Gilyana, Whitney worked with our Board of Trustees to establish the Eiffel Gilyana Staff Inspiration Award. Implemented to honor Eiffel’s legacy of strength, enthusiasm, and empathy, the first award recipient will be announced later this month.
“Helen and Whitney are amazing individuals who each bring so much value to our agency. These women support and promote our JCA daily and are truly inspirational along the way.” Nicole Brown, Board Chair
