Honoring Israel: TORN

Join us for a powerful evening with Israeli filmmaker Nim Shapira, whose timely documentary Torn explores how the Israel-Gaza conflict spilled into the streets of New York City. The film follows the controversy surrounding the “Kidnapped from Israel” poster campaign — a grassroots effort to raise awareness for the 240 hostages taken by Hamas — and the fierce public debates that erupted around it. Q&A following the screening with special guests: Israeli filmmaker Nim Shapira and Israeli artists Nitzan Mintz and Dede Bandaid, designers of the original hostage poster series.
