Exciting Times Ahead at the Jacksonville JCA
Shalom Friends,
I hope this message finds you well and in good spirits as we begin a year filled with opportunity and growth at the JCA. I am excited to share some important updates and events that highlight the continued strength and vibrancy of our community.
You are invited to join us for one of the most anticipated JCA events of the year on Sat, Feb 22. We are going Jax to the Future, and the DeLorean is set for the event! Our annual fundraiser is not just a celebration of our community, it plays a vital role in raising the critical scholarship funds that make our programs accessible to all. Your generous support helps provide educational and enrichment opportunities for children and families across Jacksonville – ensuring that the JCA remains a welcoming space for everyone. On Sun, Feb 23, we will meet at the Winston Family YMCA for our second year of the Racing Against Hate 5K Run/Walk. New this year, our amazing JCA and YMCA staff members added a One-mile Family Fun Run/Walk so even more of our community can take part in this visual display of unity in our community. We are proud to announce the return of our award-winning Berman Family JCA Concert Series, which brings world-class performances to our Bessie Stetzer Frisch Auditorium. From classical music to contemporary acts, this series is a wonderful example of the cultural richness we are fortunate to offer our community. Join us for violinist Oliver Neubauer on Sun, Feb 16, and click here for more details about our performances in March and April. You will not want to miss these unforgettable experiences.
Our youth theatre program is another area of JCA excellence that I love to kvell about! In early March, 90 talented young performers will bring the beloved Lion King to life on stage after two months of rehearsals. Watching these young artists embrace their roles with passion and creativity is inspiring; we cannot wait for you to witness the magic they will create.
As many of you know, we are also preparing for the return of JCAmp! Our summer camp program continues to grow and provide enriching experiences in a variety of activities. From arts and performance to sports and personal development, whether your child is a budding actor, artist, scientist or athlete, JCAmp is the perfect environment to explore passions and make lifelong memories. Follow this link to read about JCAmp, or if you have not already, get registered before spots are gone.
Lastly, I am thrilled to share news about our ongoing building renovation project. We are Building Our Future Together! Many have noticed the demolition work in the Stein Family Courtyard. We are now seeing the early stages of the new two-story building that will feature space for our award-winning Michele Block Gan Yeladim Preschool & Kindergarten as well as second-floor administrative space for the JCA staff and our partners at the Jewish Federation and Foundation of Northeast Florida. These changes will then free up much-needed additional first-floor space for our members to enjoy. The improvements happening are designed to enhance both the functionality and aesthetic appeal of our facilities. Renovations will ensure that we can continue to serve our members and guests in the best way possible.
Stay tuned for updates on the progress, more information and renderings of what the future will look like at the JCA are available on our website, click here to see all the details. I want to express my heartfelt thanks for your ongoing support and commitment to the JCA. Because of you, we can continue offering these amazing opportunities for growth, learning, and connection. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events and celebrating all the wonderful things in 2025.
Warmly,
Adam Chaskin, CEO
