Shoresh
(show-reh-sh) – Roots
Located at the Jacksonville Jewish Center
Rising Grades 1 – 2 by Sep 1, 2026
Overview
In partnership with our campers and staff, JCAmp is rooted in an environment of fun and friendship. In Shoresh for campers in rising grades 1 and 2, there are activities led by JCAmp staff, American Red Cross swim instructors, and local organizations. Campers rotate with their cabins throughout the day to create bonds and memories that will last a lifetime.
With morning songs, cheers, weekly themes, dress-up days, special events, and a Shabbat program every Friday, this traditional camp experience gives children the opportunity to meet challenges, form and expand friendships, participate in wide range of activities and develop social skills through group interaction in programming geared specifically for each unit.
Keeping our campers safe is our priority; therefore, we do not offer accommodations for children who cannot participate in water activities.
JCAmp runs from 9 am – 3:30 pm. Campers bring a dairy lunch and swimsuit daily. Snack is provided daily.
Within our programs, groups are designed to meet each camper’s needs as an individual and the needs of the program. Placement is based on age, grade, elective choices and other factors to create well-balanced groups. While friendship requests are accepted, they are requests only and not guaranteed. Requests must be reciprocal and emailed to [email protected] two weeks prior to your campers session to be considered in the placement process.
Please reach out to the Registrar’s Office, (904) 730-2100 ext. 228, if you have any questions or need support registering.
