An actor, director, producer, writer and theatre instructor, our Theatre Director Assistant Gary Baker has more than 20 years of experience in his field. In his career, Gary has taught theatre in North Florida, Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland, and served our JCA during summer camp season for 13 years before being hired as a full-time employee in January 2022.

A graduate of Jacksonville University with a bachelor’s degree in Performance Theatre, Gary teaches acting and improvisation for adults and children at the JCA.  He has also been performing with the JCA’s Magic Wardrobe program for the past 12 years, performing for elementary schools throughout Northeast Florida and Southern Georgia.

When Gary isn’t busy mentoring aspiring actors and actresses of all ages, he can be found having a lot of fun. Gary loves to visit Disney and Universal, conquer escape rooms, and travel as much as possible to experience new places.
