Senior Exercise Classes
The JCA offers fitness courses for all ages – including seniors! We offer several fitness programs designed specifically for older adults. Our senior exercise classes aim to improve strength, flexibility, balance and overall health, while taking existing health and mobility issues into account. We believe fitness for seniors is very important and we want to enable all seniors to be able to exercise. We take into consideration the issues that seniors face and develop exercise routines that are accessible to all older adults yet will help improve their health at the same time. Our goal that the JCA is to improve everyone’s health and wellness, one step at a time. We would love to see you at one of our classes! Please note that while these classes are designed for seniors, all are welcome!
Free Fitness Center Orientation
Our membership department offers (at request) a free orientation session in which a trainer from our Fitness department walks you through the fitness center and explains proper usage and safety techniques for the machines. We want to ensure every member’s health and safety in the gym. It’s a great place to get started, and a great way to learn how to be safe while working out.
For information about fitness center orientations, please contact Hollie Arnold at (904) 730-2100 ext. 234 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.

J Institute’s Wellness division provides Sit & Get Fit, a chair exercise class held each weekday. Four different variants of the class are offered: Strength, Pilates, Yoga, and a yoga-Pilates hybrid class called Yogalates. These classes are great for improving your balance, flexibility, and strength! Our senior classes are great for anyone looking to get more out of their day to day. To find a class that works for you, check out our group fitness schedule. For more information on Sit & Get Fit, please contact Sandy Oasis at (904) 730-2100 ext. 322 or at email@example.com.
Our Aquatics department’s aqua aerobics classes are a great way to get in shape with a low-impact workout. You choose the level of intensity and your own pace. It’s a great way to get in a workout that protects your bones and joints, and does not cause any additional strain on your body. It’s important to be safe while working out.
